Visit of the Delegation Headed by the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus to India


On October 25th‑ 27th, 2010, the Belarusian delegation headed by Mr. Vladimir I.Semashko, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, paid a visit to India. The delegation consisted of over 20 representatives of a number of key branches of industry and scientific and technological complex of the Republic of Belarus.

The main objective of the above visit was to exchange views on recent developments and perspectives of bilateral cooperation in trade, economic, scientific and technical spheres, in particular; consider proposals, projects and programmes aimed to expand the Belarus ‑ India interaction in mutually defined areas.

Mr. Vladimir I.Semashko met H.E.Mr. M. Hamid Ansari, Vice President of India, H.E.Mrs.P.Kaur, Minister of State for External Affairs of India, heads of  number of other Indian ministries and establishments.

Mr. Vladimir I.Semashko and the members of the Belarusian delegation got acquainted with production facilities of a number of Indian companies. The Head of the Belarusian Delegation made a statement addressing the top management and members of the “India – CIS” Chamber of Trade and Industry and the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ASSOCHAM), as well as representatives of the Indian companies – members of the said Chambers.The statements of the Head of the Delegation were followed by an interactive dialogue of the top managers of the Belarusian industrial enterprises and scientific organizations with representatives of Indian business circles.

Numerous bilateral meetings and negotiations with the concerned Indian partners allowed to thoroughly consider political, trade, economic, scientific and technical aspects of Belarus ‑ India cooperation. A particular attention was paid to the issues of interaction in the industrial field.
